Who We Are

A trusted partner for responsible urban forestry

Community Tree is a Louisiana-based nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting people, property, and communities through responsible urban forestry. We serve as a trusted partner to local governments, state agencies, and community organizations by delivering practical tree care solutions where they are needed most.

Our mission is to improve public safety, environmental resilience, and quality of life by advancing sustainable urban forestry through education, community engagement, and the responsible administration of public and private grant funding.

We operate as a neutral and accountable grant administrator — partnering with legislators, municipalities, police juries, arborists, and community organizations to ensure funding is distributed fairly, transparently, and efficiently.

What We Stand For

Our values

Environmental Resilience

Healthy urban forests protect lives, preserve property, and strengthen communities. We invest in proactive tree care to reduce storm damage and lower long-term public costs.

Community Equity

We serve low-income and fixed-income households that lack the financial means to address hazardous trees — ensuring safety is not a privilege reserved for those who can afford it.

Accountability & Transparency

Community Tree operates as a neutral grant administrator with strong governance, oversight, and financial controls — ensuring every dollar is distributed fairly and efficiently.

Public Education

We invest in community education on tree maintenance and urban forestry best practices, empowering homeowners to identify hazards and care for their trees long-term.

Our Programs

Practical solutions for real community needs

Community Tree supports low-income and fixed-income households that do not have the financial means to properly address hazardous or damaged trees. Through our programs, we provide:

Grant-funded tree removal to eliminate immediate safety risks
Preventative tree care to reduce future hazards
Community education on tree maintenance and urban forestry best practices
Our Approach

How we work

All services are performed by qualified, licensed professionals and managed through strong governance, oversight, and financial controls.

01

Neutral Administration

We serve as an independent grant administrator — not a contractor — ensuring objectivity and accountability in every funding decision.

02

Qualified Partners

We work exclusively with licensed, insured arborists and tree care professionals who meet our rigorous safety and quality standards.

03

Community Partnerships

We partner with legislators, municipalities, police juries, and community organizations to reach the households that need help most.

Why It Matters

Safer neighborhoods. Stronger communities.

Healthy urban forests protect lives, preserve property, and strengthen communities. By proactively addressing hazardous trees and investing in preventative care, Community Tree helps reduce storm damage, lower long-term public costs, and create safer neighborhoods across Louisiana.
